IPTV - new era of television

Internet Protocol television (IPTV) is a system through which Internet television services are delivered using the architecture and networking methods of the Internet Protocol Suite over a packet-switched network infrastructure, e.g., the Internet and broadband Internet access networks, instead of being delivered through traditional radio frequency broadcast, satellite signal, and cable television (CATV) formats.

IPTV services may be classified into three main groups:
live television, with or without interactivity related to the current TV show

time-shifted television: catch-up TV (replays a TV show that was broadcast hours or days ago), start-over TV (replays the current TV show from its beginning);

video on demand (VOD): browse a catalog of videos, not related to TV programming.

IPTV is distinguished from general Internet-based or web-based multimedia services by its on-going standardization process (e.g., European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and preferential deployment scenarios in subscriber-based telecommunications networks with high-speed access channels into end-user premises via set-top boxes or other customer-premises equipment.

viral fever -- bacho isse !!!!!!!

What is viral fever ?

In medical terms, any fever caused as a result of viral infection is a viral fever. However, colloquially, the term 'viral fever' has come to mean a special type of fever that develops and then gets treated without the offending virus being specifically identified.

The course and duration of the fever too does not seem to follow any set pattern and is frequently accompanied by, though not always by all of them, generalised bodyache, running nose, cough, shivering, feeling miserable, irritable and depressed.

How long do they last ?

Normally between 3 to 7 days with the former being termed as the 'three day fever' and the latter as the 'seven day fever'.

What medicines should one take ?

This must be decided by your medical doctor. Therefore, the doctor should be consulted without delay and his advice followed diligently.

What are the precautions that one must take ?

Remember that any viral fever causes the body immune system to be severely tested. Therefore, the more danger arises as a consequence of having the viral infection than from the specific infection itself. Cough is usually not a good sign and chest infections caused by bacteria (like pneumonia) are quite common - especially in the young and old. Therefore, your doctor would normally prescribe some antibiotics which strictly are not indicated in viral fevers and they are known to cause more harm than good unless absolutely indicated.

Tulsi - ( Ocimum tenuiflorum )

Tulsi, tulasi, or Holy Basil is a widespread as a cultivated plant and an escaped weed. It is an erect, much branched subshrub 30–60 cm tall with hairy stems and simple opposite green leaves that are strongly scented.

Tulsi is cultivated for religious and medicinal purposes, and for its essential oil. It is widely known across South Asia as a medicinal plant and an herbal tea, commonly used in Ayurveda, and has an important role within the Vaishnavite tradition of Hinduism, in which devotees perform worship involving tulsi plants or leaves.

Ayurveda

Tulsi has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda for its diverse healing properties. Tulsi’s extracts are used in ayurvedic remedies for common colds, headaches, stomach disorders, inflammation, heart disease, various forms of poisoning, and malaria. It can be taken in many forms: as herbal tea, dried powder, fresh leaf.

Essential oil extracted from Karpoora tulsi is mostly used for medicinal purposes and in herbal cosmetics, and is widely used in skin preparations due to its anti-bacterial activity. For centuries, the dried leaves of tulsi have been mixed with stored grains to repel insects.

airtel hikes the call charges by 20%

Bad news for Airtel prepaid customers across Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh and Kerala, Airtel today announced that it has hiked its prepaid tariff (Pay Per Min and Pay Per Second plan) for the above circles.

When we asked them regarding the tariff hike Airtel Spokesperson quotes that “Telecom is probably the only industry where despite increasing inflation, tariffs have been falling unabatedly. Continuously declining margins, high 3G & BWA auction prices, constrained spectrum and rural roll out aspirations leave us with little choice but to make some price corrections. We are committed to enhance value for our customers through continued investments in network, technology, customer experience and life enriching services.”

Now the subscribers who opted for per minute basic plna will now have to pay 60 paisa per minute for local and STD calls and 90 paisa for calls to landlines, SMS would be charged at Rs. 1.5 Local and National SMS’s. While Per Second Plan users will be charged 1.2paisa per second for local and STD calls to all network across India. The new tariff will comes into place when the validity of the existing packs gets over.
